 There are many great artists who have developed Sri Lankan dance & taken traditional dance to the world in search of new avenues of dance. They did a great job of preserving the Sri Lankan traditional dance. Dr. S Panibharatha is one of the artists who contributed to the advancement of traditional dance. Mr.Panibharatha was born on 24th February 1920 in Hathara Koralaya. His father was 'Pabanis'. he had an elder sister, three younger brothers and one younger sister. As a child he was called 'Panis'.  He learned Kandyan dance from Algama Kiriganitha Gurunnance. He mastered the drumming with Punchi Kira Gurunnance. He learned a lot , not only about Kandyan dances but also about Low country & Sabaragamu dance traditions. He also excelled in painting , sculpture & medicine.  He was the drummer of Mrs. Chandralekha perera who was a very talented dancer at that time. Salamba Crew . Salamba team is like a family to me. That's why I like to describe the Salamba dance troop in this way.  Salamba crew is a dancing group. We present dancing items to people through social media networks. We have a YouTube channel, Face book page & an Instagram account. Through it we present our capabilities to the society. The aim of our group is to protect traditional dancing culture through new creations as well as to take our unique culture to international. We started our team in December 2020.In fact, it is a good result of corona epidemic. Because the idea to create dance crew come to us when we were struck at home. To alleviate the stress of those days, we presented our 1st dance cover. We continued to dance as it received a high audience response.
