AN UNFORGETTABLE WEEK.

Of course I'm going to tell you about a week in my life that I will never forget. It's about a wonderful trip that lasted seven days.

This was an idea that come to suddenly. Our family usually goes on a picnic once a year. Due to the corona epidemic in the country, we could not go anywhere for about two years. So last month the risk of a covid epidemic was somewhat reduced so we decided to go on a picnic for our peace of mind.

The 1st thing we did was book a few easy days for everyone. Then we got a vehicle ready. We chose a family-friendly driver for our trip. Then we decided to go to areas where the risk of the corona is low. We also decided about going to less crowded places. Then we decided exactly where to go on our trip.

As the day drew near for our trip, we packed our things for the trip. Departure day dawned. We started our journey around 2 in the morning. We arrived at our 1st-day viewing point around 7 a.m. It's a beautiful village indeed.  That is the village of Riverstone. The climate is very comfortable for the body. The green environment healed the eyes. It felt like our tiring life had stopped for a moment.

I liked that environment. Riverstone is a wonderful village with beautiful waterfalls, the sound of birds, clean rives & beautiful fields. There were plenty of places to visit in the village of Riverstone. We spent two days in the village of Riverstone. My university friend 'Chathura' showed me the amazing places in Riverstone village.

We said goodbye to the village of Riverstone and left for Sigiriya on the 3rd day. Sigiriya is an amazing place. When I  saw Sigiriya, I felt proud to be a Sri Lankan. Its architecture, paintings & city decoration are truly magnificent. We spent our third day at Sigiriya and reached Polonnaruwa the same afternoon.

The next morning we went to experience the wonders of Polonnaruwa. I saw the amazing creations made by our past rulers. We walked around Polonnaruwa for two days and visited many places but we could not visit all the historical places in Polonnaruwa. The Kingdom of Polonnaruwa has many wonderful historical sites.

We said goodbye to this wonderful city and left for the Kandy on the morning of the sixth day. That evening we went to worship at the Temple of the Tooth. We spent the whole evening at the Temple of Tooth. We felt a wonderful sense of relief. Then we came to the Kandy Lake roundabout and waited until nightfall. The city is really beautiful for the night.

The last day of our journey dawned. That day we went to Nelligala Temple. We worshipped at the Nelligala Temple & left for home. It turned out to be a fun week. That week brought a lot of relief to the tiring life. This is a journey that will never be forgotten.
